Epic! Was the driveshaft the only mechanical failure?

Not even close. Here’s the list of the major issues:

•Stage 3: nut for wire to starter motor came off, hit skid plate, shorted out main fuse. DNF stage 3, miss stage 4.

•Transit to stage 5: fuel pump dies. Tow car to service, discover the pump died because the rollover valve in the fuel filler neck was stuck shut, so when we thought the car was full of gas it was actually completely empty. Miss stages 5-8.

•Transit to stage 9: lose first gear. Forced to start stages in second gear. All the stages have uphill starts.

•Stage 12: Driveshaft ejects itself down the road as we cross finish line. Still finished stage just 1.1 seconds behind fastest 2WD, despite second gear start.

It took me a while to clue in that Uptown Autosport built the car. I remember seeing a RX7 chassis on their feed a while back. Great shop! Hope you got ti enjoyed to car before it went bang.

I knew I recognized you from somewhere but it didn’t click out on the stage. You spent time at our chicane checkpoint after the electrical issue on Stage 3, I was pumped to see you guys on Stage 12 again (we were at the first turn) and sad to see you guys with the driveshaft up on the car after we made our way out after cleaning up our banner tape.

Nice to hang out on Friday, wish it was under better circumstances!
